Customer Service Assistant – Ipswich - £8.00 - £8.50 ph

Permanent Part-Time – Saturday’s 9.00am to 3.30pm

We have one part time Saturday position based in our friendly ground floor Customer Service Office in Ipswich. The rate of pay is between £8.00 and £8.50 per hour. Hours of work are 9.00am to 3.30pm on Saturday’s.

You will quite often be the first point of contact for customers, either by phone, email or face to face. The role also involves processing of customer data, cash handling and general office duties. You will be expected to prioritise customers over other tasks and give first class customer service.

Brief Job Description

  • Operation of main switchboard and first point of contact for customer enquiries
  • Processing of customer accounts
  • Maintenance of customer database
  • Cash handling giving change and processing payments
  • General office duties
  • Email correspondence

Essential Criteria

  • Understanding of good customer service
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Active listening and good verbal communication skills
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Accuracy and keen attention to detail

Desirable Criteria

  • Cash handling experience
  • Customer Service experience
  • Some flexibility with regard to working additional hours

Part-Time Salesperson – Ipswich

Permanent Part-Time – Tuesday - Saturday 12.00pm to 6.00pm

THE ROLE: As a Salesperson your duties will be to welcome and prioritise customers over other tasks and to acknowledge, listen effectively, establish needs and serve appropriately. You will be able to sell associated products and have a thorough up to date knowledge of all products sold, current promotions and credit facilities. You will also be able to ensure that problems encountered by customers are rectified satisfactorily and to work to the company’s returns policy and procedures.

Other duties will include:

  • Ensuring stock on sales floor and in stock rooms is tidy, in a logical order and merchandised well
  • Being responsible for using an electronic point of sale system to process all transactions including sales, returns, inter-branch transfers and stock deliveries

  • THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for this role must be a confident, friendly and organised individual with experience of good customer service, both face to face and over the phone. You must have excellent listening and communications skills and should be able to effectively build and maintain good working relations with customer and colleagues alike. Candidates should be flexible with their duties and understand the importance of personalised customer service. Experience of retail menswear or a genuine interest in fashion would be welcome. Due to the store opening hours candidates applying must be prepared and able to work 12.00pm to 6.00pm five days per week including a Saturday.
