What is Clearpay, and who can use it?
Clearpay is a payment service that spreads the cost of your online shopping, dividing it over four instalments.
It can be used by:
Customers over the age of 18.
Customers with a billing and delivery address registered in the UK.
On orders between £0-800 (excludes gift vouchers).
How do I use Clearpay for shopping with you?
At our checkout, select Clearpay as your payment method, you’ll then be redirected to Clearpay’s website.
If you are a new Clearpay customer there will be a short registration form to complete, including details such as name, email address, mobile phone number, address, date of birth and debit or credit card details. You will also be asked to accept Clearpay’s terms and conditions for your order to be completed.
If you are a returning Clearpay customer, you’ll need to log in to your Clearpay account on the Coes checkout page, using your Clearpay password, and accept Clearpay’s terms and conditions for your order to be completed.
Please note that your Clearpay login is independent from your Coes online account.
Clearpay will then do some initial checks and then confirm if you are eligible to use their payment service.
If approved, the first instalment will be taken when you place your order - usually 25% of the total, but you can choose to pay more if you like. The balance is split into three equal instalments to be automatically deducted from the card you registered with your Clearpay account, at two-week intervals. You'll receive a reminder from Clearpay two days before each instalment is due to be collected.
When you use Clearpay for shopping with us, you are entering a separate contract with Clearpay, relating to the payments. The contract with Clearpay is governed by their terms of service.
You can log in to your Clearpay account here to see the status of your payments.
What about late payments?
If you miss a payment, log in to your Clearpay account and click ‘PAY NOW’ next to your ‘overdue payment’. You'll have until 11pm the next day to make a missed payment before being charged any late fees.
If you do not pay in full by a payment due date, Clearpay may charge you a late payment fee. Your credit rating may then be adversely affected in the event of Clearpay reporting any failure to pay, to credit reference agencies.
If you experience financial difficulties, please contact Clearpay.
Can I still refund or exchange goods if I need to?
Yes. If you need to return goods paid for with Clearpay, we honour requests for refunds and exchanges. Please follow this link to returns.
Clearpay will be in touch with you about stopping any outstanding payments in relation to returned goods and will refund the card linked to your Clearpay account with the appropriate amount.
