This Fairtrade bee house is handcrafted in India from two reclaimed materials: offcut sari fabric that has been gathered and washed, and sustainably sourced munja — a tough Asiatic grass (Saccharum munja) naturally resistant to water. The whole thing is built around a strong metal frame designed to stay outside in all weathers.
The entrance holes are sized to welcome indigenous British bees while keeping larger insects out. Because each house is made from reclaimed fabric, no two are exactly alike — making this a thoughtful and unique garden gift that does genuine good for pollinators and the planet.
